ASME-ASME Auxiliary FIRST Clarke Scholarship
To recognize and reward students whose FIRST experience has inspired an
interest in pursuing an engineering career, ASME International (The
American Society of Mechanical Engineers) will award $5,000
scholarships to high school seniors active on FIRST teams, who are
nominated by ASME members or student members who are also active with
FIRST. These awards will be for the first year of study (non-renewable)
in an accredited mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering
technology program. Application deadline is March 1, 2005.
The Houston Area Section of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE-HA)
will award one $1,000 scholarship on the basis of merit to a qualified
high school senior woman who will pursue a formal college education in
an engineering discipline. This award will be for the first year of
study (non-renewable). Preference will be given to students attending
high school in the State of Texas, but scholarship eligibility is not
limited to students within the State of Texas. Application must be
received by March 3, 2005.
DeVry University
DeVry University is offering two full-tuition and 15 half-tuition FIRST
Scholar Awards to 2005 FIRST Robotics participants! FIRST Scholar
Awards are available to 2005 high school or community college
graduates. Students must be registered participants in the 2005 FIRST
Robotics competition. DeVry University FIRST Scholar Awards are
intended for students who wish to pursue a degree on a full-time basis
at DeVry in the United States. The extended deadline to apply

Eastern Michigan University
FIRST and Eastern Michigan University have established 15 scholarships
to benefit deserving students who have participated on a FIRST team
during their high school years and who would like to attend Eastern
Michigan University. The students may enroll in any course of study at
Eastern Michigan University. Recipients of this scholarship will
receive $1,500 per year for four years for a total of $6,000 upon
enrollment at EMU. Application deadline is May 1, 2005.
In partnership with FIRST, Florida Atlantic University will award a
FIRST Robotics Scholarship commencing in the fall semester of 2005. The
hands-on engineering and technical experiences learned while competing
in FIRST are skills you can build on as an undergraduate engineering
student at FAU. Broward County, Florida high school seniors
participating in their high school’s FIRST Robotics program are
eligible to apply. The FAU FIRST scholar will receive funding for
twelve (12) credits each semester for four (4) years. Total value of
the scholarship is approximately $12,000.00 dollars.
The application deadline is March 15, 2005
Idaho State University is offering a scholarship to cover residential fees for an incoming freshman who participated in FIRST. The scholarship is worth up to $16,750 total, over four years, contingent on satisfactory academic performance and available funding. Scholarship recipients must enroll in an engineering program. Application materials must be received by May 1, 2005.
ITT Technical InstituteTo further the goals of FIRST, the ITT Technical Institutes in 2005
will award one scholarship valued at up to $36,000 to a FIRST Robotics
participant in each of the FIRST regions listed in the attached
scholarship description. The funds will be applied over the length of
the program. Applications must be received by March 11, 2005.
In partnership with FIRST, Kettering University will award up to six merit based scholarships with a four year value of $20,000. The very hands-on engineering and technical experiences learned while competing in FIRST are skills you can build on as an undergraduate student at Kettering. The application deadline is March 7, 2005.
Lake Superior State University
LSSU School of Engineering & Technology Scholarship
FIRST is proud to partner with Lake Superior State University (LSSU) to
offer FIRST Robotics Competition high school participants a scholarship
to attend the LSSU School of Engineering and Technology. Up to 3
merit-based scholarships valued at $2,000 per year have been
established by LSSU's Industrial Advisory Board (IAB), faculty/staff
and alumni. The scholarships are renewable for one additional year and
may be converted to on-campus work opportunities such as research
assistantships. The application deadline is April 1, 2005.

Lake Superior State University, which houses one of the best robotics labs in the United States, is offering FIRST participants scholarship opportunities if selected for any of the camps. Full scholarships are available to young women selected for the Women in Technology program. Partial scholarships are available to young men selected for any Robot Camp. The camps are one-week, on-campus programs which include hands-on experience with computer programming, industrial robots, automation, data acquisition, computer animation, electronics, and Web page development. The camps also include several recreational activities.

Mercedes-Benz USA: DRIVE YOUR FUTURE Scholarship Award
Mercedes-Benz is pleased to announce the launch of the 2005 DRIVE YOUR
FUTURE; The Mercedes-Benz USA Scholarship Program. This year, $40,000
in scholarship support will be made available to graduating high school
seniors involved in FIRST Robotics who are the first in their families
to pursue a college education. Students will be evaluated based on
academic achievement, financial need, leadership and participation in
school and community activities. Students may submit application
materials (attached) by March 31, 2005.
In partnership with FIRST, Montclair State University has established two full tuition and fee scholarships to benefit deserving students who have participated on a FIRST team during their high school years. Eligible students may enroll in any course of study at Montclair State University. Submissions must be received no later than May 15, 2005.
Oregon State University ScholarshipThe Oregon State University College of Engineering is pleased to offer scholarships for high school juniors who actively participate in FIRST. In addition to other scholarships for which an applicant may qualify, Oregon State University College of Engineering will provide a $1,000 renewable scholarship for students with demonstrated leadership on a successful FIRST team.
Phil Clancy ScholarshipThe Phil Clancy FIRST Memorial Scholarship is being offered once again by the family and friends of Phil Clancy, a former FIRST team advisor. This $1,000 award will be offered to a FIRST student from Michigan who is pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Polytechnic UniversityPolytechnic University embraces the mission of FIRST, which exposes and attracts new students to the technology focused fields of engineering and science. Polytechnic University is also committed to this goal and applauds FIRST for their actions. Therefore, Poly is proud to offer 5 partial-tuition, fully renewable scholarships in the amount of $10,000 per year to 5 high school juniors/seniors who have participated on a FIRST team.
Purdue UniversityThe Purdue University College of Engineering, with generous assistance from Delphi Corporation, is pleased to announce a $30,000 scholarship payable over four years to offset the costs of obtaining a Purdue baccalaureate degree in engineering. Multiyear Boilermaker Regional Scholarships are also available. These scholarships will be awarded to a senior in high school who has participated at least one full season in high school with a FIRST robotics team. Only students who are admitted to the Purdue College of Engineering will be considered.
Raytheon CompanyRaytheon Company has established a scholarship program to assist FIRST Robotics competitors who plan to continue their education in college as math, science or technology majors. The program supports a wide range of educational options, including vocational and technical training, associate and bachelor's degrees. Scholarships are offered for full-time study beginning sophomore, junior or senior year at an accredited institution or program of the student's choice. Interested students must complete an electronic application and submit it by April 30, 2005.
University of Dayton/DelphiUniversity of Hardford
In partnership with FIRST, the University of Hartford will
annually award the University of Hartford’s FIRST Robotics Scholarships
in the amount of $12,000 each to two high school seniors who are
members of a FIRST team. Eligible students must apply for admission in
any program at the University, meet the academic requirements for the
University President’s Scholarship as outlined by the University
Bulletin and reside in the continental United States.
In partnership with FIRST and the Departments of Mechanical and
Electrical & Computer Engineering, the University of Waterloo is
pleased to award one $5,000 (Canadian funds) non-renewable entrance
scholarship. The scholarship is to recognize and reward students whose
experience with FIRST has inspired an interest in pursuing an
engineering education. Applications must be submitted by March 31, 2005.
Virginia Commonwealth University Scholarship Award
VCU School of Engineering is proud to be the host site of the VCU
School of Engineering / Richmond, Virginia Regional. We are pleased to
partner with FIRST to provide a merit-based scholarship of $5,200 per
year to a high school senior who is a FIRST team participant. Up to two
scholarships are available.
